Nestled on the edge of the Río Laja, in Chile's VIII Region, you will discover a warm welcome at Fundo Curanilahue. Located just 60 miles from either Concepción Airport, or Chillan train station, and only an hour from Los Angeles, we are close enough for convenience, yet far enough away to spend a weekend or week in the tranquility of the farm.
Fundo Curanilahue is a typical Chilean style farm offering the highest quality Southern cuisine and the finest wines, with the rooms situated in the farms exquisite gardens. With a view of the snow capped Andes, one can horse ride, or walk, around the 1300 acre farm, or just relax in the colourful garden watching the humming birds in flight, whilst sipping a Pisco sour!
There are five double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, situated in the beautiful, colourful gardens. Each bedroom has a firewood burner that can be lit on request. All the accommodation has been built using materials from the farm, helping to blend in with the natural environment. The living room and dining room, decorated with traditional Chilean rusticity, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy an early evening drink.
Cuisine
Homemade southern food is served, using traditional Chilean recipes, and ingredients from the organic vegetable garden. To accompany the delicious foods, there is an assortment of the finest of Chilean wines.
A full English breakfast is available with fresh milk from the farms cow and eggs laid by the farm chickens!
Fresh fruit juices are also served, along with Monica's special homemade bread and butter, homemade jams and honey harvested from the farm.
Breakfast can be served either in the dining Room, in your room or on the terrace. The Choice is yours!
Gardens
For over forty years the gardens have been attended to, resulting in an attractive selection of both exotic and native trees, making it the perfect setting to walk around in or just relax on sunbeds and chairs breathing in the essence of the blossoms.
The farm has an organic vegetable garden and an orchard with a variety of fruit trees. Strawberries and raspberries can be picked at ones own leisure.
